In 1975, while in the U.S. Marine Corps, Deryck launched his first business, Sentech, which evolved from small appliance repairs into a software company. His passion for technology was clear—it had the power to transform industries. After a medical discharge, Deryck developed Haul Path Analysis, a system that optimized earth-moving operations for construction companies, saving time and money. This breakthrough led to major clients and solidified his reputation.
Next, Deryck partnered with Jim Farnsworth to create Civil Image Systems, PC-based construction software that automated machine control using GPS—years ahead of its time. At Spectra-Physics Laserplane, Deryck’s leadership helped revolutionize the industry, proving autonomous construction systems could work by 1997.
Later, as Senior VP of Technology and Global CTO at NextFifteen Communications, Deryck worked across 55 countries, helping brands like Microsoft and Apple tackle global tech challenges. Yet, entrepreneurship kept calling.
After 9/11, Deryck pivoted to the credit card processing industry, building a successful operations platform and selling his IT services company for $11.2 million.
Despite constant pain from injuries and surgeries, Deryck’s mindset of resilience never wavered. He believed that what you think and speak into existence can become reality.
That belief led to iGloo Digital Marketing. iGloo, doing business as AssuredCTO, blends technology and marketing to drive growth for businesses. Today, it provides fractional CTO services, AI-driven solutions, and marketing strategies for small businesses, digital marketers, and coaches.
